To: All Campers and Parents Plans are progressing well for our 2008 Sun Devil Golf Camp and our teaching staff is ready and anxious to get going. Please forward your travel arrangements, arrival time and final payments if not already done. In case you miss connections, please contact Cary Dedrick 480-965-3596 (office), 480-209-5511 (cell) upon your arrival, or the Karsten Golf Course 480-921-8070. Please remember that phone calls are now 50 cents each! Finally, please check with your airline of choice and make sure that your camper does not need to be signed over to an adult and picked up at the gate. This pertains to unaccompanied minors only. We cannot guarantee which specific coach/counselor will be there to pick up your child. This has happened in the past with Southwest Airlines.
Fly in on first day of camp (June 19 or 25) with arrival time between 1pm and 5pm. Actual flight time to schedule for departure is 3pm or later (We build in time for checkin and security). We will make every effort to meet all campers at their specific baggage claim. Our staff will be identified with a gold “ASU GOLF” tee-shirt. Due to security regulations, we are not permitted to go past security to meet you at your gate; so all campers are to go to the baggage claim area. Check-in for all sessions will be at Karsten Golf Course Hobbs House (Player’s Facility) on Thursday June 19th and Wednesday June 25th . A map is included. All camp expenses are taken care of and will include instruction, lodging, meals, videotape, tee-shirt, visor, and instruction book. However, you will probably want spending money for snacks, movies, souvenirs, etc (especially in the evenings). The Hyatt Place has food service 24/7 and a credit card is necessary for incidentals. You will be issued a room key. Each night, your counselor will collect your room key for security reasons; key cards will be returned upon morning wakeup. It is warm in June so dress is casual (shorts, golf shirts, tee-shirts, visors/hats). Tank tops are not allowed nor are jean shorts. Sport jackets are not necessary. Earrings are not allowed for male campers. Supervised swimming will be allowed at the hotel during specified times. An informal awards recognition will be held on Monday June 23rd, and Sunday June 29th at the golf course. All families are invited to attend. Your departure flight needs to be after 3:00pm.
